13 degrees today on a snowshoe hike with 3 feet of snow on the ground. Stopped to make a fire and cook a few bratwurst. While i had some Bigfoot fire starters, they weren’t needed, some yellow birch bark and a few strikes from the Bigfoot ferro rod and it was going. Its a good ferro rod!

I was able to start a fire after rain with wet kindling and wood. Only had to use one with each fire I’ve started so far. Definitely lived up to my expectations! And a pro tip I found is hold the ferro rod directly on the plug where the fibers are frayed and strike straight down.

So there was a confusion in my order for these ferro rods so they're still in Colorado but..... the issue was resolved real fast and in a hurry. So as for customer service, I give y'all a 5 star review on that. Ok so as for the ferro rod, I already has one and fire plugs, and I'd give you 5 stars on both. 5 for the fire plugs because they are easy to use and smell good lol. The ferro rod get 5 stars because it is super easy to use and will last long. Made with pride and made with the real life use in mind. My wife's first time using a ferro rod and fire plug to start the fire in your flat pack grill, that is also AWESOME! She was blown away by how easy it was to use and how well it worked. We are very happy with our bigfoot bushcraft products! I appreciate the pride you take in your product and craftsmanship, unlike MOST companies today that use CHEAP materials to make their products and sell them for top price to just have them break down the line. Bigfoot Bushcraft striker rod is fire! Solidly made with lots of life to be used in the woods. Love it’s rustic look and the massive amount of sparks created with each strike.
First impression we're. Ok that should last a lifetime. At first I wasn't a fan of the included striker having used similar items in the past that have been completed garbage. But after a few uses I can safely say that it is beyond functional and throws some serious sparks. I've used it on everything from cotton to roughed up grass and powdered wood shavings and has yet to fail in getting a fire going. I have recommended this to all of my friends and the survival group I'm involved in. Great job Bigfoot Bushcraft!!

The ferro rod is great. Fantastic Quality and heavy duty. Easy to use and puts out big sparks. Very pleased.
I've been through three other fire starters and the Bigfoot Bushcraft Ferro Rod is by far the most efficient and easy to use. Sure, my other emergency strikers can produce sparks but with lots and lots of effort. Not something that's good when you really need a fire and you're really tired.
I've purchased numerous fire steels over the years, but not until this one did I have one that worked very well. With the others I could only throw sparks, but with this one I can place the rod directly on the tinder and scratch back and forth a couple of times and generate a nice shower of sparks directly on the tinder for a quick light.
Excellent, heavy duty fire starter. Works great. Should last a long time. Great handle on it, easy to grip. Shipping seemed a little slow. But arrived in good condition.

This is definitely a great product that I recommend . Showering sparks and very nice handle. If your looking for awsome piece of equipment to add to your bugout bag, hunting, camping or fishing then you definitely need to get this product. You will not be disappointed I gaurentee it. You could easily start over a million fires with it. I used fat wood shavings to test it out and one strike the fire ignited.
